सरकारी कामकाजको भाषाका आधारको निर्धारण र भाषासम्बन्धी सिफारिसको पञ्चवर्षीय प्रतिवेदनप्रति नेपाल राना थारु समाजले असन्तुष्टि व्यक्त गरेको छ ।

भाषा आयोगले तयार गरेको प्रतिवेदनमा राना थारु भाषालाई सरकारी कामकाजी भाषाका रुपमा स्थान नदिएकोप्रति असन्तुष्टि जनाएको हो । “कैलाली र कञ्चनपुरका मूल बासिन्दा राना थारु समुदायलाई नेपाल सरकारले आदिवासी जनजातिका रुपमा अलग्गै सूचीकृत गरेको छ,” समाजका अध्यक्ष कृपाराम रानाले भन्नुभयो, “राना थारु भाषाले आयोगमा स्थान पाइसकेको छ । स्थानीय पाठ्यक्रम र तत्सम्बन्धी ब्याकरण तयार गर्ने कार्यले मूर्तरुप लिइसकेको छ ।”

भाषा आयोगले सरकारी कामकाजको भाषाको रुपमा स्थान नदिएकोप्रति समाजको आपत्ति रहेको रानाले बताउनुभयो । “भाषा आयोगको प्रारम्भिक प्रतिवेदनमा सरकारी कामकाजको भाषाको रुपमा राना थारु भाषालाईसमेत समेटिएको थियो” संविधानसभाका पूर्व सभासदसमेत रहनु भएका रानाले भन्नुभयो, “प्रधानमन्त्रीलाई बुझाइएको अन्तिम प्रतिवेदनमा राना थारु भाषालाई हटाइएको छ । यसमा आपत्ति छ ।”

शब्दकोष, वर्णविन्यास, भाषा, इतिहास, ब्याकरणलगायत कुरा छन् तर पनि राना थारु भाषालाई छुट्याइएको उहाँको आरोप छ । आयोग निष्पक्ष र विश्वसनिय काम गर्ने निकाय भएपनि राना थारु भाषालाई पछाडी पार्ने काम भएको रानाको भनाइ छ । सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशको डोटयाली र थारु भाषालाई सरकारी कामकाजको भाषाका रुपमा सिफारिस गरिएकोप्रति भने समाजले सहमती जनाएको छ ।

अध्यक्ष रानाका अनुसार कैलाली र कञ्चनपुरमा गरी राना थारु समुदायको झण्डै तीन लाख जनसङ्ख्या छ । राना थारु समाजले भाषा आयोगले अविलम्ब प्रतिवेदन सच््याइ आफ्नो समुदायलाई स्थान दिन आग्रह गरेको छ । संवैधानिक व्यवस्था अनुसार प्रदेशभित्र बहुसङ्ख्यकले बोल्ने एक वा एकभन्दा बढी वा अन्य राष्ट्रिय भाषालाई प्रदेशको सरकारी कामकाजको भाषा निर्धारण गर्ने प्रावधान छ ।

आयोगले प्रदेशको भाषाको तथ्याङ्क विश्लेषण गर्दा प्रदेशगत जनसङ्ख्याको एक प्रतिशतभन्दा अधिक वक्ता सङख्या भएका भाषाको आधारमा सरकारी कामकाजको सम्भाव्य सूचीमा नेपाली बाहेक अन्य पाँच भाषालाई छनोट गरेको छ । डोटयाली, थारु, बैतडेली, अछामी र बझाङ्गी भाषालाई स्थान दिइएको छ । तर तीन लाख जनसङ्ख्या भएको राना थारु भाषा भने त्यसमा समेटिएको छैन । प्रदेशगत सरकारी कामकाजको भाषा निर्धारणका आधार पूरा गर्ने अवस्थामा रहेका डोटयाली र थारुलाई प्रदेशको सरकारी कामकाजको भाषाका रुपमा आयोगले सिफासिरस गरेको छ ।
