विश्वकप क्रिकेट लिग–२: नेपालद्वारा अमेरिका पाँच विकेटले पराजित

काठमाडौँ, २९ भदौ ,आइसिसी विश्वकप लिग–२ अन्तर्गतको त्रिकोणात्मक क्रिकेट शृङ्खलाअन्तर्गत गए राति भएको खेलमा नेपालले अमेरिकालाई पराजित गरेको छ । ओमानको अल अमिरात क्रिकेट मैदानमा भएको उक्त खेलमा नेपालले अमेरिकालाई पाँच विकेटले हराएको हो ।

अमेरिकाले टस जितेर ब्याटिङ गर्दै निर्धारित ५० ओभरको खेलमा नौ विकेट गुमाएर २३० रनको योगफल तयार गरेको थियो । दुई सय ३१ रनको विजयी लक्ष्य नेपालले ४९ ओभरमा पाँच विकेटको क्षतिमा पूरा ग¥यो । नेपालका लागि प्लेयर अफ दी म्याच हुनुभएका कुशल भुर्तेलले ८४ रनको योगदान दिनुभयो । उहाँले ९३ बलको सामना गर्दै तीन छक्का र तीन चौकासमेत प्रहार गर्नुभयो । यस्तै रोहितकुमार पौडेलले अविजित ६२ रन बनाउनुभयो । उहाँले ८७ बल खेल्दै तीन छक्का र दुई चौका हान्नुभयो । नेपालका लागि विनोद भण्डारीले ३७, आशिफ शेखले २३ र कप्तान ज्ञानेन्द्र मल्लले १७ रन बनाउनुभयो । बलिङतर्फ अमेरिकाका निशर्ग पटेल र नोष्ठुस केन्जिगेले दुई–दुई तथा सौरभ नेत्राभल्करले एक विकेट लिनुभयो ।

यसअघि २३० रन बनाउने क्रममा अमेरिकाका लागि मोनाङक पटेलले शतकीय पारी खेल्नुभएको थियो । उहाँले यस क्रममा ११४ बलको सामना गर्दै १०० रन बनाउनुभयो । यसमा पटेलको एक छक्का र नौ चौका सामेल थियो । यस्तै निशर्ग पटेलले २१, सुशान्त मोदनीले १६, करिमा गोरेले १६, स्टेभन टेलरले १४, नोष्ठुस केन्जिगेले १३, सञ्जय कृष्णमूर्तिले १३, अभिषेक प्रदमकरले अविजित १३ र जसकरन मलहोत्राले ११ रन बनाउनुभएको थियो । बलिङतर्फ नेपालका लागि विक्रम सोब, सन्दीप लामिछाने र सुशन भारीले दुई–दुई तथा कुशल मल्लले एक विकेट लिनुभयो ।

ओमान र अमेरिकासितको विश्वकप लिग–२ अन्तर्गतको त्रिकोणात्मक क्रिकेट शङ्खला खेल्न नेपाली टोली ओमान गएको हो । ज्ञानेन्द्र मल्लले कप्तानी गरेको टोलीमा गुल्शन झा, दीपेन्द्रसिंह ऐरी, कुशल भुर्तेल, आसिफ शेख, आरिफ शेख, कुशल मल्ल, विनोद भण्डारी, करण केसी, सोमपाल कामी, सन्दीप लामिछाने, पवन सर्राफ, अविनाश बोहरा, रोहितकुमार पौडेल, सुशन भारी, शरद भेषवाकर र विक्रम सोब रहनुभएको छ । टोलीमा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक डेभ वाटमोर, व्यवस्थापक मोहम्मद दाउद अन्सारी, टेक्निकल एनालिस्ट रमन शिवाकोटी, फिजियो विक्रम न्यौपाने र ट्रेनर राकेश काशिभाइ गोहित रहनुभएको छ ।

ओमान शृङ्खला आगामी असोज ४ गतेसम्म सञ्चालन हुने छ । त्रिकोणात्मक सिरिजमा नेपालले ओमान र अमेरिकासँग दुई–दुई खेल खेल्ने छ । आइसिसी विश्वकप क्रिकेट लिग–२ अन्तर्गत ओमान र अमेरिकासितको त्रिकोणात्मक एकदिवसीय सिरिज अघि नेपालले यही भदौ २० र २३ गते ओमानमा पपुवा न्यूगिनीसित दुई एक दिवसीय खेल खेलेको थियो । नेपाल दुवै खेलमा विजयी भएको थियो ।

विश्वकप लिग–२ मा नेपाल रहेको समूहमा पपुवा न्यूगिनी, ओमान, अमेरिका, स्कटल्याण्ड, नामिबिया र युनाइटेड अरब इमिरेटस् (युएई) रहेका छन् । लिग–२ अन्तर्गत नेपालले ओमान र अमेरिकासँग गत वर्ष चार खेल कीर्तिपुरस्थित त्रिवि क्रिकेट मैदानमा खेलेको थियो । नेपालले दुई खेलमा अमेरिकालाई हराएको थियो भने बाँकी दुई खेलमा ओमानसित पराजित भएको थियो । पाँचौँ खेलमा नेपालले अमेरिकालाई हराउँदै छ अङ्क जोडेको छ । नेपाल आफ्नो समूहको अङ्क तालिकाको छैटौँ स्थानमा छ ।

यस्तै ओमान १० खेलमध्ये आठमा जित र दुईमा हार व्यहोर्दै १६ अङ्कसहित शीर्षस्थानमा छ । अमेरिका १३ खेलमा छ खेलमा जित र सातमा हारसहित १२ अङ्क जोड्दै दोस्रो स्थानमा छ । स्कटल्याण्ड आठ खेलमा चारमा जित र तीनमा हारका साथ नौ अङ्क जोड्दै तेस्रो स्थानमा छ । स्कटल्याण्डले खेलेको एउटा खेल वर्षाको कारण रद्द भएको थियो । नामिबिया सात खेलमा चारमा जित र तीनमा हार व्यहोर्दै आठ अङ्कसहित चौथो स्थानमा छ ।

यसैगरी युएई सात खेलमा तीनमा जित र तीनमा हारका साथ सात अङ्क जोड्दै पाँचौँ स्थानमा छ । युएईले खेलेको एउटा खेल रद्द भएको थियो । पपुवा न्यूगिनी हालसम्म खेलेका आठवटै खेलमा पराजित भएको छ । पपुवा न्यूगिनी अङ्कविहीन बन्दै लिग–२ को पुछारमा छ ।

लिग–२ अन्तर्गत सन् २०२३ सम्म नेपालसहित उक्त समूहका सातवटै देश प्रत्येकले ३६ एकदिवसीय खेल खेल्ने छन् । लिग–२ का शीर्ष तीन टोली सन् २०२३ मा भारतमा आयोजना हुने एकदिवसीय विश्वकपका लागि ग्लोबल छनोटमा स्थान बनाउने छन् भने पुछारमा रहने चार टोलीले प्लेअफ खेल्ने छन् । नेपालले आज घरेलु टोली ओमानसित प्रतिस्पर्धा गर्ने छ । उक्त खेल अपराह्न ४ः१५ बजे सुरु हुने छ ।(रासस)
